About the Institute

CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute Campus in Bangalore

Pioneering Data-Intensive Scientific Discovery

Established in 2012 as part of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), the Fourth Paradigm Institute (4PI) in Bangalore represents India's commitment to leading the fourth paradigm of science: data-intensive discovery. We operate at the intersection of domain sciences, computational methods, and massive datasets.

Our institute is built on the vision that the future of scientific advancement lies in harnessing the power of big data, advanced algorithms, and high-performance computing to solve complex problems in climate science, earth systems, materials discovery, and computational mathematics.
